2ND COLLECTION TODAY & TOMORROW: September 5/6 Collection for Lebanon suffering from August 4 Explosion

The ammonium nitrate explosion at the Beirut sea port on August 4, killed over 200, injured more than 6,000 and displaced over 350,000. “Lebanon is bleeding,” says, Chorbishop Maroun. Many neighborhoods are flattened at a time when the nation is dealing with the COVID pandemic and political unrest.

They need our help with even the basics for survival, including shelter, food, medicine, and hygiene kits. Archbishop Hebda has requested that parishes in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis take up an emergency collection for Catholic Relief Services – the U.S. Bishops international humanitarian aid organization for poor and most vulnerable - and their lifesaving support in Lebanon.

On the weekend of September 5 and 6, we will take up this much needed emergency collection for those suffering in Lebanon. The Center for Mission will forward financial donations to Catholic Relief Services. Please be as generous as you are able: many are counting on our help.
